Graduate Traineeship

A graduate traineeship is one of the more common routes into librarianship. Traineeships are a way to get a taste for library work to see if it suits you! A traineeship is an entry-level position, usually lasting a year, designed to give you training in library and information management roles. While not essential, many postgraduate courses for Library and Information Studies require a year’s library experience, which makes graduate traineeships a great opportunity to gain applicable skills and knowledge!

For those who are interested in becoming a graduate trainee, we have collated a range of libraries which have advertised opportunities in the past.

If you find any other Graduate Traineeships in libraries, museums, or the wider information profession that you would like to share with the ECLAIR Community, then please feel free to get in touch with us so we can add it to our page.
